WHY DON'T YOU DO IT NOW???

In this post, I would like to talk about something that always happen to everyone especially to the students. The thing that I am talking about right now is procrastination. Procrastination, based on this website, refers to the act of replacing high-priority actions or tasks with low-priority actions, and thus putting off important tasks to a later time. There are several reasons or cases for all to be delaying their important task no matter the reason is reasonable or not.

  1. Fear of failure
The fear of failure can cause most of the procrastinators postpone their work especially when they need to try their best doing the tasks. This usually happens when the task is related to the important things such as assignments that carry mark to the final. They want their work to be perfect. However, they will procrastinate with excuses like they have to be really well prepared to ensure that their work will be well done. Finally, they will end up with two or three days before the due date of the submission of the assignment and they have anything but nothing.
  1. Laziness
Laziness is a very common thing that happen to us even we are not procrastinators. Usually, procrastinators will use the excuse like telling themselves that they will do it tomorrow. It is not a surprise if a student that has a lot of assignments to be done still has time to be at the mall or cinema. It is a very common situation and he or she will not sleep at the night of the submission date to finish the tasks.
  1. Priority confusion
Priority confusion can actually caused procrastination. It is undeniable that all of us have to know which one has to be done first. It is becoming a serious problem if we do not which one is the first. So, it is very important for us to jot down the date of the task has to be finished. This priority confusion can happen if we do not know the actual due date of the task. When this condition is happening, we will have the excuse to procrastinate our work.
  1. Poor organizational skills
Sometimes, poor organizational skills can be the cause of the procrastination. For example, when we are ready to work on the certain task at a certain time, we find out that the things that we need to work on that task are not available or out of our territory. We will be end up with postponing the task. This is where the good organizational skills functioning. When we have good organizational skills, we will arrange our schedule to be suitable with the current situation.
  1. Complicated tasks
Tasks that are given to us sometimes can be complicated or difficult. For example, some tasks can make us spending our time searching for something that we know nothing for ages. It is very difficult to deal with this kind of tasks because we will always find excuses to postpone the tasks although they are important. We really should start with something that is light and easy and continue with the difficult one. The beginning is always the hardest part to begin.
  1. Mood
We usually heard people saying that they still have not started their work because they are not in the mood. Ironically, they have to find the suitable mood to do the tasks and they will not do the tasks perfectly if they are not on the mood. However, people usually will do any kind of difficult task and they finish it tonight if the submission date is tomorrow. This shows that we can create our mood. When we started to work on the task, the mood will come and make sure that we enjoy doing the task.

lastly, a piece of advice
